How To Use
Guides from our counters
Fix it, use it, get more out of it.
Every guide here answers a question customers bring to our Michigan shops, written around gear we stock. One job or one question, start to finish: what you need, what order to do it in, what usually goes wrong, and how to avoid damaging something you paid for.
VAPES
Devices, pods, batteries and charging. Every guide below is a vape question we get at the counter.
Start here: what is it doing?
Find the card that matches what your device is actually doing. Most of these are a two minute fix.
It will not take a charge.
No light, or a light that comes on and nothing happens. Almost always the charging port or the cable, not a dead device: pocket lint and dust sit on the contacts and block them.
Clean the port dry, then try another cable and power source. Vuse not charging: the full checklist
You want to keep vaping while it is plugged in.
That is pass-through charging, and very few disposables support it. Most have a chip that locks the firing button while the cable is in.
Unplug it and wait. Can you hit a vape while it is charging?
You cannot find a charging port.
Some disposables recharge and some do not. The Breeze Prime does not: there is no port on it, so there is nothing to plug in.
Check for a port before you buy the next one. Can you recharge a Breeze Prime?
It died much sooner than you expected.
The number on the box is the manufacturer's estimate for ideal use. A JUUL pod holds 0.7ml and is rated at about 200 puffs, and long deep inhales get through that far quicker.
Check the real-world numbers. How many puffs are really in a pod
It lights up when you pull, but no vapor.
Not a charging fault, which is why the charging fixes do nothing for it. Usually a flooded coil, a spent coil, or a pod that is not seated.
Reseat the pod, clear the contacts, let a flooded coil dry. It lights up but will not hit
You cannot tell when it has finished charging.
From flat, 60 to 80 minutes on most pod devices. Finished is a steady green light or the light going out, depending on the device.
Still going after a few hours? It is the cable or the power source. What the indicator lights mean
There is a boost button and you are not sure what it does.
Boost fires a second mesh coil alongside the first: bigger clouds, hotter vapor, and the battery drains 40 to 50% faster, so the puff count on the box goes out of the window.
Use it when you want it, not as the default. Boost mode explained
Not on the list?
Bring it into any of our Michigan shops and we will look at it with you.
