How to Use the Lookah Ant Wax Pen: Settings, Cleaning and Coils
Posted by Vigil Carter on 27th Oct 2026
The Lookah Ant is a wax pen built like a tiny rocket: a quartz dish under a magnetic flip-top lid, one button, and a screen that counts down the preheat for you. This is how to use it, start to finish, written around the Lookah Ant Wax 710 Connect Concentrate Vaporizer, $69.99.
Quick start: how to use the Lookah Ant
- Flip the magnetic lid open and use the dab tool to put a peppercorn-size dab in the center of the quartz dish. Close the lid.
- Five clicks within two seconds turns it on. It preheats on its own for ten seconds and counts down on the screen.
- Two quick clicks changes the heat: 3.2V, 3.6V or 4.0V.
- Hold the button and inhale. It heats for as long as you hold it, up to ten seconds at a time.
That is the whole thing. Everything below is the detail that makes it work well and last.
What is in the box
- The Lookah Ant
- Two Type D 710 quartz dish coils
- A dab tool, which lives inside the device
- The user manual
Lookah lists those four on its own page. You will want a USB-C cable to charge it, and a silicone container keeps your concentrate tidy.
Buttons and settings
Everything is on the one button. The screen shows the countdown, the voltage mode and the battery.
| Do this | What happens |
|---|---|
| 5 clicks within 2 seconds | On or off. Turning on starts a 10-second automatic preheat, counted down on the screen. |
| 1 click during the countdown | Stops the preheat early. |
| 2 quick clicks | Changes the voltage mode. Mode 1 is 3.2V, mode 2 is 3.6V, mode 3 is 4.0V. |
| Hold | Heats the dish. It stops by itself after 10 seconds, flashes, and waits for the next press. |
| Leave it alone for 60 minutes | It turns itself off. |
Which voltage to use: 3.2V for flavor, 4.0V for bigger clouds, 3.6V in between. Start at mode 1 and only go up if you want more vapor.
Step by step

- Charge it first. The USB-C port is on the side. The Ant can be used while it charges.
- Load it cold. Flip the lid, take out the dab tool, and put a peppercorn-size dab in the middle of the quartz dish, not on the edge. Close the lid.
- Turn it on with five quick clicks and let the ten-second preheat run.
- Pick a voltage with two quick clicks. The screen shows the mode.
- Hold the button and draw slowly. Let go before the ten seconds are up if you want shorter pulls.
- Turn it off with five quick clicks when you are done.
Tips that actually change the result
- Small loads. A peppercorn is enough. Overloading floods the dish and wastes concentrate.
- Let it finish before adding more. Take another pull or two until the dish is clear, then reload.
- Center the dab. Lookah's own instructions say to load the center of the quartz plate.
- Start low. You can always go up a mode.
Cleaning the Lookah Ant
After every session: once it has cooled, wipe the chamber and the air path with a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol. That keeps wax from building up, and it is the single biggest thing that keeps the flavor right.
Deep clean, every so often: unscrew the 710 quartz dish coil and soak it in isopropyl alcohol for 30 minutes or more. Let it dry completely before you screw it back in.
Not working? Check these first
- It stops heating after ten seconds. That is by design. Let go and press again.
- It turned itself off. It shuts down after 60 minutes with no use. Five clicks turns it back on.
- The screen shows a warning. Lookah builds in alerts for low power, high temperature, short circuit and open circuit. Low power means charge it. If one of the others comes up, stop, let it cool, and bring it into any of our shops.
- The flavor has gone flat or burnt. The dish needs a clean or a change. See the coils below.
Which coils fit
The Ant uses Lookah's 710 quartz dish coils. It ships with the Type D, and Lookah says it also takes its other three 710 dish coil types.
We carry the Lookah D 710 Quartz Coil 5-Pack, $49.99, which is the same coil the Ant comes with.
