How to Use the Lookah Mini Dragon Egg E-Rig

An e-rig is a dab rig with the torch built in. You set a temperature instead of guessing at one, there is water in the base to cool the draw, and the whole thing runs off a battery. This is how to use one, written around the Lookah Mini Dragon Egg, $79.99.
Quick start: how to use an e-rig
- Fill the water. Unscrew the bubbler at the bottom and fill it about one third full.
- Five clicks turns it on. It flashes white three times and gives one short vibration.
- Two clicks changes the heat: green, blue, white, coolest to hottest.
- Open the magnetic flip cap, put a small amount of concentrate on the coil, close it, then hold the button and inhale.

Lookah does not list a charging cable in the box, so check yours before you leave the shop. Spare USB-C cables are on the batteries and chargers shelf, and dab tools and containers are on dab accessories.
Buttons, heat settings and what they mean

The battery is 500mAh and Lookah rates it at about forty puffs a charge, over USB-C.
Step by step
- Water first. Unscrew the bubbler at the base and fill it about one third. Too much and you will pull water into your mouth; too little and the draw is hot.
- Five clicks to turn it on. Three white flashes and a short vibration tell you it is awake.
- Pick a heat with two clicks. Green is the one to start on. Hotter is thicker and harsher, not better.
- Open the magnetic flip cap.
- Load a small amount of concentrate into the center of the 910 quartz dish coil with a dab tool. The center matters: concentrate up the side of the dish does not meet the heat properly.
- Close the cap.
- Either hold the button and inhale, or three clicks and wait out the fifteen second preheat. Two vibrations mean it is ready, and you then have twenty five seconds.
- It shuts itself down with one vibration at the end of an automatic session.
Tips
- Small amounts. The dish is shallow by design. A rice grain is a dab; a pea is a mess and a clean.
- Let one finish before you load another. Topping up a half-used dish is how a coil gets coated.
- Green, then decide. Most people who say an e-rig tastes burnt are running it on white.
- Change the water. Old water is the single biggest difference in how a rig tastes, and it takes ten seconds.
Cleaning the Mini Dragon Egg
After every session: dip a cotton swab in isopropyl alcohol and wipe the 910 quartz dish coil while it is still slightly warm. That is thirty seconds and it is most of the job.
Deep clean: take the coil, the bubbler and the glass mouthpiece out. Soak the coil and the mouthpiece in isopropyl alcohol for thirty minutes or longer in a sealed container, rinse with clean water, and let every part air dry completely before you reassemble it.
The one thing not to do: do not soak the bubbler in isopropyl alcohol. It is acrylic and alcohol damages the material. Wash it with dish soap, warm water and a small bottle brush instead. The glass parts can go in alcohol; the acrylic cannot. If you keep bottled cleaners for your glass, they are on cleaning supplies, and the same rule applies: read the label for what the piece is made of.
Not working? Check these first
- No light, no vibration. Five clicks. If there is still nothing, charge it: 500mAh is a small battery and forty puffs goes quickly.
- Harsh, thin or burnt. Drop to green, change the water, and wipe the coil. In that order.
- Water in the mouthpiece. The bubbler is overfilled. One third is the number.
- It stopped mid-draw. An automatic session is twenty five seconds and then it shuts down on purpose, with one vibration. That is the device working.
Replacement coils
It takes a replaceable 910 quartz dish coil, and two come in the box, so you have a spare from day one. We do not currently stock 910 coils on their own. If you want one put aside, call the shop and ask.
