Smoke Shop Buyer's Guide: Dab Rigs, Bongs, Pipes and the Parts That Go With Them

This is the smoke shop half of what we carry, arranged the way you actually buy it: one setup at a time, with the parts that go with it. A rig is no use without a banger, a banger is no use without a cap, and none of it is any use without a torch. So each section starts with the main piece and then names the things people come back for a week later.
Everything here is in stock as this is written and every name links to its own page, which is the one that knows what it costs today. There are no prices on this page on purpose.
1. The dab setup
Four things make a dab setup: something to hold water, something to heat, something to cap it, and something to put the hot part down on. Buy the first three together or you will be making a second order.
The rig
If you want one object that does everything, the Rig In One Portable Dab Rig packs the whole setup into a single travel unit. Everything else here is glass, and the choice is really about height and how much filtration you want between you and the vapour.
- Small and sits on a desk: Tsunami Mini Bell 6in in green or the same rig in blue.
- Mid height with a shower head perc: Shower Head Side Neck Dome 8in in green, or in amber.
- Full size: the Double Shower Head 11in, the Sprinkler Honeycomb Twist Recycler 12in, which keeps the water moving through the piece rather than sitting still, and the Tsunami WP-10120.

The banger, the cap and the tip
This is the part that decides how it tastes, and it is the part people under-buy. Two numbers matter before you order anything: the joint size on your rig, and whether that joint is male or female. Measure it. A banger that does not fit is the most common thing we send back.
- Tsunami 14mm Male Thermal Quartz Banger, for rigs with a 14mm female joint. Thermal quartz holds heat evenly, which is what makes a low-temperature dab possible, and a matching carb cap comes with it. If you are buying one thing in this section, buy this one.
- On Point Glass 25mm Banger, a flat top etched quartz with a 25mm bucket and a 14mm male joint, boxed with a certificate of authenticity. The wider bucket suits bigger loads.
- Glass Carb Caps, assorted. A cap controls the airflow over a hot banger, and it is the difference between vapour and smoke. They fit standard flat tops.
- 14mm Male Quartz Nectar Collector Tip, a replacement tip for a nectar collector rather than a rig. Quartz is the usual choice because it is thermally stable and does not add a flavour of its own. More on the nectar collectors shelf.
The torch
Four, side by side, because a torch is the one thing here where people want to compare rather than be told.

All four are refillable butane. Buy filtered butane and bleed the tank before a refill; cheap gas is the usual reason a torch starts sputtering. The rest are on the torches shelf.
The thing nobody buys until they have scorched a table
The Ooze Silicone Banger Tray. Eight inches by six and three quarters, hexagonal, sixteen slots and a built-in debowler. A hot banger has to go somewhere, and "on the table for a second" is how people learn this.
2. The bong setup
The water pipe
Two things separate these: height, and what the smoke passes through on the way up.
- Chilled. The Tsunami Freezable Glycerine Water Pipe has a glycerine coil sealed in the glass: freeze the piece and the coil stays solid for a session. The 6in Clover with glycerin does the same in a smaller body, and the Ooze Glyco is the chilled option with the heaviest build.
- Percolated. The Double Propeller Drum Perc Recycler 12in and the Bullet Ball Tower Showerhead Honeycomb 18in, which is the tallest thing in this guide.
- Plain and solid. The Tsunami WP-10005 and the UFO Pyramid 15in.
- Will not break. The NEU Silicone Water Pipe 15in. Silicone is the answer if the piece travels or the floor is tile.

The bowl, and the number you need before you order one
Joints come in set sizes, and the two you will meet are 14mm and 18mm. They are also male or female. Measure the joint on your piece before buying any bowl, banger or downstem: it is the single most common ordering mistake in the shop, and it is thirty seconds to avoid.
- Glass Bowl, the plain replacement, in 18mm male and 14mm male. Keep a spare.
- 18mm Male Bowl with Handle, a drop-in for any 18mm female joint, with a handle that keeps your fingers off the hot glass.
- Clover Glass 14mm Male Glycerin Bowl, which chills the smoke at the bowl rather than in the water. Four colours.
- Silicone Bowl, in 14mm male and a 14/18mm hybrid male that fits both. The one that survives being dropped.
3. Handheld pieces
Bubblers and pipes
Everything in this section fits in a hand and most of it fits in a pocket.
- Tsunami Premium Mini Bubbler and the Famous Brandz Wido Glass Hand Pipe, the two straightforward glass options.
- On Point Diamond 2-in-1, a hand pipe and a 10mm nectar collector in one piece, so it covers dry herb and concentrate without a second purchase.
- Premium Roast & Toast Ceramic Mug, which is a mug with a pipe built into the handle. It is a gift, and it is a good one.
- Two attachments that only fit one device. The Puffco Proxy Bub and the MJ Arsenal Proxy Bubbler are both borosilicate glass water attachments built for the Puffco Proxy and nothing else. Neither contains a coil or a battery; the heat comes from the Proxy base they sit on. Check you own a Proxy before you buy either.

They change constantly, so what is on the glass and smoking pieces shelf today is not what was there last month. That is the point of the section.
4. Flower prep
Grinders
Two decisions: how many pieces, and how wide.
Pieces. A two-piece grinds and stops. A four-piece adds a screen and a kief catcher underneath, so what falls through the screen collects instead of being lost. If you do not know which you want, a four-piece does everything a two-piece does.
Width. Bigger is easier on the hands and holds more. Ours run 55mm to 100mm.
- STR8 RYPR Aluminum 4-Piece 55mm, anodised aluminium with a kief catcher, six colours. The default recommendation.
- STR8 RYPR Ceramic 2-Piece 63mm, ceramic teeth, four colours. Simple and wide.
- Tsunami 75mm Sunken Top and the Tsunami 100mm, for anyone who wants the larger body.
- Tsunami Grinder and Jar Kit, grinder plus a matching storage jar in one box.
- Inline Vape Plastic Stash Grinder, the cheap one with a compartment in it.

Cones and wick
Pre-rolled cones save the part most people are worst at.
- Blazy Susan 50pk Cones, the bulk option.
- Rozy 1 1/4 Cones and Element 1 1/4 Cones, both in the standard 1 1/4 size.
- RAW Hemp Wick, which is the alternative to a lighter: light the end, tilt to control the flame, and nothing butane-flavoured gets near what you are lighting.
5. Clean and weigh
Cleaners, and the one distinction that matters
Read the label for what the piece is made of, not how dirty it is. Glass cleaner and plastic cleaner are not interchangeable, and using the wrong one is how acrylic pieces go cloudy.
- Randy's Green Label, biodegradable, for glass. Fill or submerge, block the openings, leave it to soak, then rinse. No shaking needed, which matters if the piece has a perc in it.
- Randy's Black Label, concentrated, for glass, metal and ceramic, and the one for resin that has been there a while.
- Formula 420 Plastic Cleaner. Plastic and acrylic only. Non-toxic and biodegradable, no soaking or scrubbing, travel size.
- Pink Eraser Magnet Glass Cleaner, two magnetic microfibre halves that clean both sides of the glass at once.

Odour and ash
- Smoke Odor Spray and 420 Odor Eliminator for afterwards.
- Odor Buddy Candle and Ashtray, a soy wax candle with an ashtray lid that burns about seventy hours, in eleven scents. It works during rather than after, which is the useful difference.
- Crown Ashtray.
Scales, and the accessory nobody thinks about
- US Balance Marvel, 200g capacity reading to 0.01g, six units including grams, ounces and grains. The precise one.
- Vortex Digital Bowl Scale, 2000g to 0.1g, with a dishwasher-safe bowl that stores over the base and a backlit screen. The practical one.
- Cookies Scale.
Every digital scale drifts, and nothing tells you when it has. A reading that looks wrong is the first symptom, by which point you have been weighing wrong for a while. A calibration weight set fixes that in a minute and then lives in a drawer.
- US Balance 500g Weight Set, seven nickel-coated weights totalling 500g in a case.
- US Balance 210g Set and the 1000g Set, for lighter and heavier scales.
Match the set to your scale's capacity: calibrating a 200g scale needs weights it can actually hold.
One thing that belongs in both halves of the shop
The EVOD Wax Globe Kit is a globe-style wax atomiser on a 510 thread, which means it screws onto most standard batteries you already own. It is the cheapest way into concentrates we stock, and the only reason it is down here rather than in the dab section is that it needs a battery and nothing else on this page does.
