The Yocan Uni is a 510-thread cartridge battery built to fit almost any cartridge. Instead of a fixed opening, it has a cart holder you adjust for both width and height, so a short, slim cart and a tall, wide one sit in the same body. Yocan calls it the Universal Portable Mod.
What it does
- 650mAh battery, charged over micro-USB. Yocan's manual says about an hour to a full charge.
- Three voltage settings: low, middle and high, shown by one, two or three lights.
- 10-second preheat for thick oil that will not pull cold.
- Adjustable cart holder: a dial sets the width and a button sets the height, with a window so you can see how much is left in the cart.
- Built-in protection cuts it off after 15 seconds of continuous firing, and warns on a short circuit or low battery.
How to use it
- Screw the included magnetic 510 adapter onto your cartridge and drop it into the holder.
- Turn the dial until the cart is held snugly, and set the height with the button on the side.
- Five quick clicks turns it on or off. Two clicks starts the 10-second preheat. Three clicks steps through the voltage settings.
Which carts fit
Any 510-thread cartridge that is 6mm to 12mm wide and longer than 42mm, with a resistance above 0.5 ohm, according to Yocan's own manual. That covers almost every standard oil cart.
